UCONN GIVES IS 3 DAYS AWAY!

Here are some words of wisdom from alumni Alexa Buxbaum, class of 24’, and a member of Alpha Epsilon Phi, and a Former Council Leader.

“I started my freshman year at UConn during Covid while my family was simultaneously moving to another country. It was terrifying. I knew at school I would need to take the extra step to find my community.

Very soon after arriving on campus I joined my organization, Alpha Epsilon Phi. I remember feeling so moved by the sorority’s philanthropies, values, and quite literally got the chills while watching videos about the community. From this organization not only did I find my people, but I discovered a vast array of opportunities to help me grow, including serving on my chapter’s executive board.

The following year, an opportunity to serve on the greater council level arose and I knew it was right for me. I will without a doubt always say that serving on the Panhellenic Council was the best decision I made during my four years at UConn. I met and collaborated with amazing people from other councils and at the CFSD office, had the opportunity to make lasting change at the university level, and be in a role that allowed me to help others find their home in greek life the same way I had.

From this role I was not only awarded as an Outstanding Council Officer, but was also able to present at a national conference. These recognitions immensely aided me in stepping towards my career. I also gained many skills that I still utilize every day in my professional, post graduation life. Without a doubt, I would not be where I am today without my organization, CFSD, and UConn.”

Thank you to Alexa and let’s keep on GIVING!
