Earlier this week, a group of our employees attended an event coordinated by Arizona Women Leading Government. They had a unique behind-the-scenes experience at the Arizona State Capitol. This event was designed to help public sector professionals better understand how the state legislative process works and how local government engages with state policymakers.

Participants heard an overview of Arizona’s legislative process from azcities, the League of Arizona Cities & Towns, followed by insights from Katy Proctor, Intergovernmental Affairs Director for the City of Maricopa, who shared how local government works with legislators during the legislative session and discussed her career in government affairs. They also met with Julie Willoughby, Majority Whip, for a Q & A session. They wrapped up with a tour of the capitol.
