We are grateful to everyone who joined us for this year’s Second Chance Forum, hosted by the georgetownpivotprogram! For the first time, the forum was held on Georgetown’s campus, bringing together leaders, advocates and community members for conversations on second chance hiring and pathways forward.

PJI Director marcmhoward moderated a fireside chat with Joshua Smith, deputy director of the Bureau of Prisons at the U.S. Department of Justice.

The program continued with a panel, “A Local Perspective: The D.C. Model for Advancing Second Chances,” featuring Marc Howard; Talib Shakir, Pivot Program alumnus and director of the D.C. Mayor’s Office of Returning Citizens Affairs; and Brian L. Schwalb, attorney general of the District of Columbia, who served as moderator.
