## Caption

This firestarter will@actually come in really handy on camping trips when it rains. It uses a composition of strontium and potassium nitrates (amongst other materials), similar to that used in emergency road flares to ignite a waxy material with a high autoignition temperature. The whole thing will burn for more than 30 minutes from my experience, making it useful to ignite wood that may be damp in a campfire. #chemistry #chemteacherphil
