Used cooking oil can be converted into methyl linoleate, aka biodiesel through a transesterification reaction with the oil, methanol and sodium hydroxide. The biodiesel separates and floats on the top of the resulting mixture of products. #chemistry #science #renewableenergy #biodiesel
