To wrap up National Volunteer Week, we’re celebrating the people who have built something beautiful for Oakland’s kids.

Together, our volunteers have assembled 67 slides, installed 72 basketball hoops and 30 soccer goals, painted ground games and murals at more than 20 schools, planted over 1,700 plants and trees, constructed more than 250 wood benches and planter boxes, and so much more! 

The result: 24 OUSD schools with revitalized schoolyards — places where kids can run, explore, create, and belong.

None of this happens without the community, corporate, and school volunteers who give their time. And none of it happens without our partners at kaboom, ousdnews, Workday, KaiserPermanente, and rubrikinc, who make every build possible. #nationalvolunteerweek #thankyouvolunteers
