“Light dawns in the darkness for the upright; he is gracious, merciful, and righteous.” -Psalm 112:4

Darkness does not remain where light arises. Even on the blackest night, the dawn always follows. The night lessens as the light grows higher. This is true in creation, but also in the ways that God works. The light that comes to the upright is not their own, for it is given to them. This is the light of God shining in and through them. It doesn’t depend on circumstance, nor does it wait for the darkness to pass. The light rises within it, undiminished by it.

Do more than just witness the light, reflect it. What God gives isn’t meant to be hidden, it should shape one’s life, in grace, in compassion, in righteousness. It steadies the heart, giving a firmness that cannot be shaken, even in the midst of darkness. As it is formed within, so too should it be carried outward. To be a light on the hill, using what God has given for His glory and for the good of others.

Even where there’s uncertainty, even where there’s difficulty, the promise remains. Light arises, not by our strength, but by His faithfulness.
