“But ask the beasts, and they will teach you; the birds of the heavens, and they will tell you; or the bushes of the earth, and they will teach you; and the fish of the sea will declare to you. Who among all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this? In his hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind.” -Job 12:7-10

What majesty there is in creation! As knowledgeable and advanced as we are, there is something to be gained by simply watching. Creation does not strive to explain itself, nor does it question its place. However, it continually points to something greater, a designer, an author. If we would but stop and listen, the beasts and birds have something to teach us. Something so obvious even they understand it when we may not.

Creation is not silent, nor is its message hidden. The hand of God is revealed and declared in what has been made. We are surrounded by a great and constant witness that declares His power. Creation is not just a pretty thing with no testimony, but we just so often fail to recognize it. Yet we are always searching, asking, looking for answers, for understanding and truth. We fill our hearts with trifles and fleeting things that are all in vain. 

If you want to know the ways of the LORD, look around at creation. There are attributes of God that we can clearly know, having been also revealed in what He has made. His wisdom, grace, power and goodness, all shown in a way that cannot be denied. And yet, even with all of this, we often miss it. Not because it is hidden, but because we do not look; what creation continually declares, we often overlook.

What has been set from the beginning is this: in His hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind. He sustains and knows all of creation.
