Nikola Jokic and Shai Gilegous-Alexander are two of the top candidates to win NBA MVP. SGA won last year, and Jokic has also won before. They have also both taken their respective teams, the Denver Nuggets and Oklahoma City Thunder, through the NBA Playoffs to the NBA Finals where they have both won NBA Championships.

When the MVP race is close, sometimes they just go with the player who had the better team. This year, that would be the OKC Thunder. If SGA won because of that, the original maker of this post would not be happy, as he believes that Jokic should win. This is because he averaged 28 points, 13 rebounds, and 11 assists across the NBA regular season. He averaged a triple double while SGA hasn’t gotten one in years. Also, this post shares disinterest in the way that the Thunder point guard plays the game, as he is often trying to draw fouls than actually make baskets. 

These are 2 of the best basketball players in the world. Whoever wins will be an extremely deserving winner, but some of the players that come up just short may feel like they got robbed because of how close the MVP race is and since there is no real true standout winner.
