I’m still coming down from such a full, energizing week at the American Academy of Audiology Conference.

There’s something about being in a space with so many people who care deeply about this work that just fills you back up.

AAA, you were so good to me.

Old friends. New friends. So many meaningful conversations in between.

I got to spend time with my InnoCaption team, meet so many of you in person at my meet and greet (still smiling about that), reconnect with old friends, and make new ones that I know will stick.

I had fun times with my NOAC classmates Kristina Petraitis and Jerome Evans, connected with so many incredible students who are already thinking so thoughtfully about this field, and spent time with organizations like Hearing Loss Association of America and industry partners like Eli Lilly who are doing important work in this space.

A personal milestone that really stood out to me-I had the opportunity to present at cochlear implant Grand Rounds with an incredible panel. Thank you to Alyssa Needleman and Meagan Bachmann for the invitation. That meant a lot. And a huge thank you to Lindsay Creed, Tricia Ashby, Julia Shih, and Alyson Mellish for helping watch my babe while I presented. Truly takes a village.

And of course, learning about new innovations (hello Oticon 👀), dreaming bigger about what this field can look like, and being reminded that audiology is so much more than just what happens in a booth.

More than anything, this week expanded how I think about audiology. It’s not just one path. It’s so many.

Rounded out the week with my fave - connecting with families and kids. Thank you Niko & Cristal - family time is the best, thank you for sharing time and heart with me.

San Antonio, thank you for the connections, the memories, and all the laughter.

Forever a student. Always learning.
