One of the must-do things when you visit Panama 🇵🇦

You can only get here with a tour guide because there are no roads to the Embera village.
It starts with a long, narrow canoe through the rainforest, followed by an easy-to-moderate hike across streams, rocks, and small waterfalls… until the village suddenly appears.

We were welcomed by the community’s elected leader and recently, a woman won.
She shared the tribe’s history, their way of life, and how they now rely entirely on tourism after losing the right to farm this land.

Before anything else, you listen.
Then the culture comes alive.

Traditional music, dance, and local food yuca fries, fried plantains, deep-fried fish, and fresh rainforest fruits.
The women perform in vibrant, colourful dresses, with geometric patterns painted using natural dyes. You can even get the same art done on yourself ..fully customizable.

You dance with the kids, walk around the village, and spend 30–60 minutes taking it all in…
before heading back the exact same way you came.

This isn’t just a tour.
It’s being invited into a living story. 🌿
