🇨🇦Where Dunes meet Whales 🐋
These majestic golden dunes are a nature lover’s dream, offering a breathtaking panorama where the Saint Lawrence River meets the Saguenay Fjord. Whether you’re here for the unique landscape or a glimpse of whales passing by, this place is a must-visit!

🌿 A Bit of History: These dunes were formed 10,000 years ago during the last Ice Age. They offer insight into the region’s glacial past. They’ve also served as a lookout for the Indigenous people, who once scouted the river for food and visitors from these very sands.

🥾 The Hike: The hike down the dunes is a thrilling, easy descent as you glide down the soft sands. However, the return journey is a heart-pumping challenge, with a steep incline that’ll test your stamina. It’s about a 30-45 minute round trip, depending on your pace.

Things to Do:
- Whale Watching: This spot is famous for whale watching. The higher you climb, the better your chances of spotting a majestic whale in the distance.Bring binoculars
- Photography: The contrast between the golden dunes and the deep blue waters makes for stunning photos.
- Bird Watching: Keep an eye out for a variety of bird species, especially during migration seasons.
- The dunes are especially popular during low tide when the shoreline expands, allowing for a peaceful walk along the water.
- At high tide, the waves crash dramatically against the base of the dunes, creating a mesmerizing scene.

📸 Pro Tip:
- For the best photos, visit during the golden hour when the dunes glow with a warm, ethereal light.
- And don’t forget to bring water and snacks—you’ll need the energy for that uphill climb!
