A Step-by-Step Guide to Creating an Echo at Bon Echo Provincial Park

1. Choose the Right Location:
 - Head to Mazinaw Lake, where the majestic Mazinaw cliffs are 330ft high. This sheer cliff face is perfect for generating echoes.

2. Find a Good Spot on the Water: 
 - Renting a canoe or kayak is highly recommended, as being on the water gives you the best angle to experience the echo. Rentals are available on site
 - Paddle towards the middle of the lake, facing Mazinaw Rock. Alternatively, you can stand at the shore, but being on the water enhances the experience.
- Or go on the 45 min interpretive boat tour who also does this activity at the end of the tour. Cost : $30/adult, $15/child

3. Best time: Early mornings or late afternoons are ideal times, as the park is quieter and the wind is usually calmer, allowing sound to travel more clearly.
Note : Calm, still days are best. Wind can disrupt sound waves and make the echo less pronounced.

4. Generate the Echo: Once you’re in position, make a loud noise of a single syllable word. You can shout, sing, or even clap your hands. The sound waves will travel across the water and bounce back off Mazinaw Rock, creating an echo.

5. Listen Carefully: After making a noise, stay silent and listen for the echo. Depending on the conditions, the echo might return immediately or after a slight delay.
