📍 Athabasca glacier, Jasper National Park
Did you know Athabasca glacier is one of the most accessible glaciers in the world? However visitors must take a guided tour to reach the glacier. 

• Athabasca glacier is open to public from May- mid October ( subject to change based on weather)

• Best time to visit : Summer (June- August)

• Where to purchase tickets?
Athabasca is right across the street from the Columbia ice fields visitor center, which is where you can purchase guided tour tickets or you can purchase them online.

• How close can you go to the glacier?
You can park the car at the base. Take the snow coach bus tour which will take you to the glacier. You can literally walk on the 200 year old glacier.

• The guided tours will allow you to spend 20 mins on the glacier 

⚠️ NOTE : The glacier is 800 feet deep and spread across 6km long. There has been multiple deaths reported due to its uncertainties. So stay within the guided tour areas to avoid any accidents.
