🇨🇦 4 day itinerary to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada

Cape Breton national park is one of Nova Scotia’s most enchanting places where mountains meet the sea. This island  is rugged wilderness on the Atlantic coast of North America with world famous Cabol trail.

Itinerary:

Day 1:

1. Drive from Halifax to Mabou, a nearly 4-hour journey.
2. Visit Mabou for a whisky tasting tour at The Glenora Inn and Distillery, a place rich in Scottish heritage near the highlands.
3. Experience local food and culture at the Red Shoe pub.
4. Visit West Mabou Beach Provincial Park and stroll along the sandy shores or go for a swim.
5. Drive to Inverness and stay overnight.

Day 2:

1. Visit Inverness Sandy Beach for sunbathing, swimming, or a leisurely stroll along the shoreline.
2. Explore Cabot Links Golf Course, one of the top-ranked golf courses in Canada, offering stunning ocean views.
3. Drive to Chéticamp and embark on a sunset hike at Skyline Trail.
4. Return to Chéticamp and stay overnight.

Day 3:

1. Check out from Chéticamp and drive through the Cabot Trail (a park pass is required).
2. The Cabot Trail is a scenic highway loop on Cape Breton Island with breathtaking spots throughout the drive; spend ample time on this highway. It might take about a 5 hour drive on the Cabot trail.
3. Dine in Neil’s Harbour on the way.
4. Stop by Ingonish and stay overnight.

Day 4:

1. Visit Ingonish Beach and Ingonish Harbour to spot different types of whales, depending on the season.
2. Drive back to Halifax.
