I’m stumbling with my words today as my littlest warrior turns 1 - I found this poem by jessurlichs that beautifully reflects just how much my third little one has altered my way of being & thinking. 

Thank you my bubba for reminding us to love & laugh hard - you changed us all for the better.

That Third Child...

She is all the things I felt for my first and second,
but slowed down.

She is all the milestones I have witnessed before,
that I am not rushing.

She is all the long days that I have lived,
that I’m holding on to.

She is all the sleepless nights that are still hard,
but it’s just our time,
and there’s not a lot of that anymore.

She is all the moments I am reliving, and yet they are so completely different.

She is all the love that touches the corners of her sibling’s mouths,
just at the sight of her.

She is everything that I didn’t know I needed.

Because there’s just something about that third child.”
