Oh, what is life if it isn’t filled with moments or opportunities of stepping outside your most coziest of comfort zones? Perhaps boring? Maybe scary? Anxiety filled? Or simply unbothered?

And while the comfort of it all can feel the safest, what thrill or challenge would you feel if you weren’t pushed, nudged, convinced, or simply challenged to do something you never knew you could possibly do?

Do I sound cryptic yet? 🫣

I mean, this basically sounds like motherhood to me. But let me talk beyond motherhood for a second. Well, kind of sort of. Today was a big day with some big shifts after a few weeks off from the scheduled programming of life. We all had to somehow remember that alarms needed to be set, clothes picked out the night before, lunches prepped, and attempts at minimal morning meltdowns. And while I’m happy to report it all went by fairly smoothly, the jitters were still real.

And that’s the part. The jitters. The adrenaline that kicks in when you have everything planned out but nothing really prepares you for the butterflies in your stomach or your heart racing all while you’re pondering the unknown.

I know I’ve tried many different things in the last few years, yet I still feel part of me has held back because of the sheer comfort.

While I’m satisfied with the pace of the every day, I know I want the next few seasons to be about really breaking out of the comfort and more about making things happen, and actualizing goals & dreams. Because this morning when I told Amia, my oldest, that I was feeling nervous about the unknown of the day, she said, “it’s okay, mama - you can do hard things!”
