Sure, fall is my favourite season but holy heck, this time is also the most hectic in this household.

I have to be honest, I almost contemplated an out of office to post here because I’ve felt depleted of the creativity and motivation to pour into this space.

But then something happened. As it usually does. Since the school year started, it has been a hot minute to keep up with life. Especially with the kiddos. With their never ending but much needed needs. With the new routines. I think out of all of us, this transition totally kicked MY butt.

Us moms just never know if it’s ever enough. We worry. We ponder. We lose sleep over it. Until there’s just that sheer moment of clarity. And that’s what happened.

As much as these two may be the best at being EXTRA assertive and EXTRA picky and EXTRA aware of their wants with me, with the outside world, they’re making my heart melt. As I was scrambling a few weeks ago at morning drop off barely managing, the daycare director stopped me in my path and said, “Hey, I just have to share this…” She proceeded to say how these little two of mine say hello and good morning and always show an abundance amount of kindness the second they walk into their classrooms. She heard this especially from Amia’s teachers as well, who happened to share this observation.

In that moment I just looked at my kids and gave them the biggest tight squeeze. I know somewhere somehow with my daily reminders of “always be kind” “use your voice, it’s a powerful thing” “remember to always include friends” “never hold back on who you are” where I always get a 😒 or a 🤪 or a 🙄 (at the age of 5 it begins), they’re retaining something.

Ultimately what I’m trying to say, mamas, don’t underestimate all that you do and teach your littles. With the hustle and bustle of life, we might not always see the “rewards”, but the true reward is how our children reflect what they see happening in their own respective households.

Give yourselves some grace, mamas - a friendly reminder that this is the toughest job that literally comes with no manual or special training. ♥️
