The way the light sparks your soul • The way a smile hides hurt • The way happiness & kindness always win • The way you decide to take back the power • The power resides in our narratives. And sharing our stories and collectively listening to each other should be our purpose.

In the last week I’ve attended two very impactful speaking engagements. One where I listened to Deputy Minister for Indigenous & Northern Affairs Canada, Daniel Quan-Watson emphasize the importance of telling your story. We are ALL storytellers and every story is unique and holds power.

Which leads me to my next reflection where I recently shared the virtual stage with Nabeel Rahman from Positive Thought Counselling, Board Advisor with the_lotus_movement - we were invited to a speaking engagement with The Hudson’s Bay Company. Nabeel spoke about power and privilege and how these elements can affect wellness and our well-being.

This is why for myself, I have been so intentional with what I share and the narrative I am sharing on this space. Not one person’s narrative is more powerful than another’s. We cannot compare. No one understands the magnitude of pain we might have endured, but by sharing our inner truths and knowing the courage it takes to open up can be a ray of hope in someone’s life.

So to anyone who is struggling to share their story and to take back the power - let me assure you that it’s not easy, but the weight that you will feel lifted off your chest and in your heart will be the most rewarding feeling. I promise. ♥️

And as a mother, it is my duty to remind my girls daily to use their voices and never shy away from the truth and to never be afraid to share their story - they don’t know this yet, but one day I’ll let them know how their existence has been the most powerful and awakening chapter(s) in my story.
