Stumbling into Wednesday liiiiiike...

Big feels over here. Under normal circumstances our family would be prepping for some BIG transitions right about now. My littlest would be heading to daycare and me gearing up to head back to work.

It feels like just yesterday we were going through this transition with my first. I was a complete mess. I bawled my eyes out on the first official day of daycare and my first day of work. I wanted to turn the car around and go back and take my baby home. The mom guilt literally tore at me. I felt guilty for wanting to go back to work. For pursuing my career. For reaching my goals & ambitious. But as the days went on, things slowly got better but not easier. The guilt still exists. But the beauty in all of this and what settled my mama heart was seeing how Amia was flourishing at daycare with her little friends (yes, even at 11 months old).

I’m quite sad I won’t experience (at least not yet) this transition with Aliza. I’m more sad that Aliza won’t get the full daycare experience. With a lot of reflection and consideration, I’m questioning what my career will look like all while juggling multiple hats. This is an entirely new transition that I thought I would be prepared for, but now not so much.

I know I can do it. I’m a believer that we’re only given as much as we can handle. I’ve handled a lot during this maternity leave; a lot of internal transitions, growth, and revelations. Pursued a lot of passions and projects. With the right attitude, rest & energy, and pace us moms can truly conquer it all. So as a reminder, never doubt yourself. You got this!
