One of many things that I admire so much about our little humans is how fearless they are. An innocent (or sometimes not so innocent) idea sparks their curious minds and they work with determination to materialize it. They follow their intuition. And they for sure don’t necessarily worry about the consequences of their decisions (which sometimes gets them in trouble).
.
So, what changes? At what point in our lives do we choose to stop taking risks?
.
With motherhood’s many lessons, I have learned that there is nothing wrong with experimenting aka my tame version of taking risks. Us parents do it on the daily. We’re not following a manual on how to raise children; what we are doing is trying different approaches that work best for our families. And as parents we make the impossible possible; whether that means throwing the fabulous Pinterest’esque birthdays or whipping up a gourmet hearty meal for our kids to only have it rejected. Whatever it might be, we make shit happen. We stay as positive as we can because at the end of it all, we have little humans looking up to us. Our children reflect and respond to our feelings and actions - it’s a theory, there’s no empirical evidence, but I’m sure we can all attest to this ideology.
.
On this vlog episode, this is exactly what Sammy and I chat about; The Laws of Attraction and how it applies to life and parenting. Basically, real talk, reminding ourselves to live our best life (take those risks!)! Sammy and I have known each other for many years and I have appreciated her hard work and dedication in the Ottawa community. We have crossed paths many times and I felt it was only fitting to have her hop on a chat with me and share some positive insight during this uncertain time.
