Here’s a little #throwback. Even though my dad jokes about being interviewed for one of my vlogs, I know deep down he’s just waiting for the day I ask him to record a chat. So, stay tuned, Dad.

If you haven’t guessed it yet, I’m back here talking about dad’s. Based on my own experiences (and witnessing it now with Amia + Aliza and Matt), dad’s hold a unique love and bond with their children. Let’s be real, they get the fun card.

But we’re also discovering that they face their own challenges and battles in fatherhood. They’re managing different expectations. They’re fostering a different type of growth. Society has always portrayed dad’s as being the bread-winners. That they don’t offer a hand in the kitchen or wake up with mom’s to help with a feed or change a diaper. Let’s stop this perception and break out of the traditional norms. We know dad’s are doing a lot more, and it’s time we give them an opportunity to share their piece.

My next vlog chat features Bobby Gulati, a well known individual in the #Ottawa South Asian community. He’s a husband and a dad to two beautiful little girls. I can’t stress enough how much I’ve appreciated this conversation. I’m so humbled that Bobby openly chatted about his story and his take on fatherhood all while navigating the many challenges of life. Trigger warning: during our conversation there is discussion about infant loss.
