Forget reflecting on this past year, let’s just take a second to remind ourselves there’s a whole decade we’re putting behind us.

My biggest most rewarding accomplishment this past decade: becoming a mama.
.
No degree, no promotion at work, no award or praise has been remotely close to self-fulfillment as much as becoming a mama has been.
.
Whatever I do, I do for my two little warriors. I fight the everyday battles to give them a life full of fairness, justice, and most importantly to make sure they have a voice. My job is to teach them there are no boundaries or limitations to achieve their dreams. Today, they are little girls; fast forward to 10 years and society will label them as young women.
.
As 2020 approaches, let’s remind ourselves that as a society, we still have a lot of work to do for the future of our girls. We still live in a world where women are oppressed, don’t have access to basic social needs, where decisions about our fertility are still dictated by misogynistic monsters. Ladies and gents, we still live in a world where a women must decide if she wants a career or a family.

The best thing we can do is step into 2020 with a belief to support and empower other women, break down divisions and barriers, and continue as women and men to influence change.
.
And I for sure will not give up the fight, for the betterment of today’s little girls and boys, who will be our future in the next decade to come. ✨
