From parties to travel plans, the holiday season is a time for family, friends and loved ones to gather and celebrate the season together.

Living with a complex neurological disorder can bring challenges to staying active and involved in family get together, holiday parties and travel plans.

Here are 4️⃣ tips to help you enjoy the holidays this season –

Plan ahead 📆
A plan can make a difference in feeling confident in your holiday adventures. Before your holidays start, make a plan and don’t forget to schedule extra time for yourself to feel comfortable and not rushed.

Keep routine 🕚
From continuing your exercise schedule through virtual options to maintaining your sleep schedule, try to keep your routine as much as possible.

Plan travel 🚗
If you are traveling, remember to prepare ahead of time. Bring your medication (and extras just in case!) and any important medical documents and items you may need, and stay up-to-date with any COVID travel recommendations.

Stay rested 🛋️
Being rested and refreshed can make all the difference in your energy levels and wellbeing while participating in holiday activities. Schedule and allow for downtime to take rest breaks throughout the day.

❄️ Happy holidays from your entire care and research team at the Norman Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases ❄️
