Congratulations to Dr. Stefan Prokop, a winner of this year’s University of Florida Office of the Provost Excellence Awards for Assistant Professors, given to 10 nominees from across the UF campus to recognize excellence in research.

As a leader in the field of neuropathology, Dr. Prokop was named the first Fixel Scholar in 2019. 

His research is focused on describing the telltale signs of Alzheimer’s disease using brain autopsies and his research activities involve UF’s Center for Translational Research in Neurodegenerative Diseases, the 1Florida ADRC and the Norman Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases.
