Bo Scarbrough was a highly touted five-star running back recruit from the Tuscaloosa area who joined the Alabama Crimson Tide in 2014. Standing 6’1”–6’2” and weighing around 235 pounds, he brought a powerful, bruising running style combined with breakaway speed. Despite playing in a loaded backfield alongside future NFL stars like Derrick Henry, Kenyan Drake, Damien Harris, Josh Jacobs, and Najee Harris, Scarbrough made 31 appearances from 2015 to 2017. He totaled 267 carries for 1,512 rushing yards (5.7 yards per carry) and 20 touchdowns, adding 21 receptions for 131 yards. He contributed to Alabama’s 2015 and 2017 national championship teams.

In 2015, as a redshirt freshman, Scarbrough was limited by a torn ACL suffered in spring practice but still showed flashes with 18 carries for 104 yards and a touchdown. His sophomore season in 2016 proved to be a breakout, as he rushed 125 times for 812 yards and 11 touchdowns, excelling in the postseason with 364 yards and 6 touchdowns across the SEC Championship, CFP Semifinal, and National Championship games. He earned Peach Bowl MVP honors with 180 yards and two scores against Washington.
