In the Polls • Nebraska checked in at No. 16 in the D1Baseball Top 25 and USA Today/Coaches Poll while also appearing 14th in Perfect Game's Top 25 and No. 17 in the NCBWA rankings after going 2-2 last week at No. 16 Kansas and Illinois. • Nebraska is one of four Big Ten teams to appear in the rankings this week, with UCLA (No. 1), Oregon (No. 13) and USC (No. 21) also landing spots in D1Baseball's Top 25. Huskers Post Best 44-Game Start Since 2008 • With a 33-11 record through 44 games, the Huskers have compiled their winningest start since opening the 2008 campaign with a 35-8-1 record. • The 33 wins in the first 44 games are tied for fifth most this century, trailing the 36 wins in 2006, 35 wins in 2005 and 2008 and 34 wins in 2001. Timmerman Gets the Nod on Tuesday Night • Junior Tucker Timmerman is set to toe the rubber and make his second start of the season tomorrow night vs. Kansas State. •Timmerman is 3-1 on the season with a 3.94 ERA and 21 strikeouts in 29.2 innings across 17 appearances on the mound.
