🔑 Elite and subtle keys to the technique 🔑
1. Forward pressure is important - Getting your opponent to drive back into you makes any snap more efficient, effective, and harder to counter.
2. Tie ups - Collar tie with your back leg hand. Defend their collar tie by catching their wrist. Be aware that both your hands are up. Your head needs to stay at their level or lower as it is your main source of defense.
3. Sag before snap - Pressing forward and sagging down and away from your opponent is crucial when facing an elite opponent. Sag with your chest BEFORE snapping with your hands. The goal is to extend your opponent as much as possible before snapping and running angle.
4. The fake - Everything coach brigada01 taught me today was to trick me into falling forward. The pressure forward, the extension from the sag, then finally, adding the last fake to get me to throw my legs back are all what makes this technique elite.
5. Footwork - As you bring your opponent into your legs it’s important to take a step backwards, loading your lead (which is now your back leg), to drive off of to get to the angle.
6. Finishing the attack - After throwing the hands on the mat with the snap, drive off your lead (now your back leg) to an outside high c. Once you gain the angle, it’s important that you drive back towards the head to keep weight on their hands. If you drive to their legs you can give them an opportunity to get their head up and fight the position again. Keep weight on their hands throughout the entire position (set up, attack, and finish) to make this a flawless takedown!

Huge thank you to Coach brigada01 for coming to the njrtc and training with our guys as his athlete rr1zabek gets ready to compete vs Kyle Snyder on Saturday at rafwrestlingusa Philly!
