lost 70lbs, found myself. ✨

Wish I could sit with the 2020 version of her for just a moment and tell her, “Just trust me, you’ll be fine.”

The 26-year-old girl who was two years postpartum, raising a 2 and 4 year old alone, going through a divorce, carrying over 220 pounds of stress, heartbreak, and survival on her shoulders all in the middle of a pandemic.

The girl who packed up her life, dropped out of school again, left her family, friends and clientele, and home to move to LA for her daughter’s surgeries while trying to hold herself together for everyone else.

She felt lost.
She felt broken.
She felt scared.

What she didn’t know was that the next five years would rebuild her.

She would lose over 70 pounds.
She would lose people she thought she needed.
She would lose the version of herself that was built only to survive.

And in all that loss, she would finally find herself.

She would become stronger, softer, wiser, and more certain of who she is.
She would learn that peace is more valuable than approval.
She would learn that walking away can be the beginning, not the end.

She would build a life she once dreamed of!

So if you’re going through something that feels heavy now and you are feeling heavy please remember:

Hold on.
Keep going.
Everything you’re carrying right now is shaping the person you’re becoming.
Things will become lighter and brighter!
The best is yet to come! ✨

That’s what I would tell my 2020 self.

For those asking: yes, I lost it all naturally. I did not do what most are doing these days. This is why it took over 5 years. I steadily lost 1-3lbs a month by fasting, tea, yoga and Pilates. I did it this way because I found it was the healthiest and most long term sustainable way for me personally. Sorry I don’t have any magic pill or hack for you all. Just remember this life is a marathon, not a sprint. Everything has side effects. Health is wealth.
