🌀We’re 32 days away from the start of hurricane season. Did you download the 2026 hurricane guide yet?

This year’s guide includes preparedness tips for individuals and families, homes, businesses, boats, and planes; a localized look at impacts to City services; a disaster supply checklist; myths vs. facts, like the one below; all-hazards information; a historical look at storms affecting Venice since the late 1800s; and a recap of the 2024 season, plus more.

❌MYTH: The bridges are locked in the up position to prevent people from getting on or off Venice island.

✅REALITY: The three bridges (North/KMI, Venice Ave, and Circus) remain locked in the down position during hurricanes to allow vehicle traffic on and off the island before, during and after a storm.

➡️Download the guide today: https://bit.ly/2026HurricaneGuide

Printed copies of the guide will be available at the free 2-day City of Venice Hurricane & Home Expo, May 29–30, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Venice Community Center, in partnership with the Venice Gondolier. On Friday, hear from government, nonprofit, and community resources; and on Saturday, table with storm prep, landscaping, and home improvement vendors. Speakers, raffles, giveaways, and food available both days—make a weekend of it and get storm-ready!
