LIONS WALLOP EAGLES: The jserra.baseball team won its’ third straight game on Wednesday, as the Lions surged past the Santa Margarita Eagles by a score of 13-3 in a Trinity League contest at Santa Margarita Catholic High School in Rancho Santa Margarita.

JSerra struck for three runs with two outs in the top of the first inning.

Junior Ayden Coleman slapped an RBI double to right field to score sophomore Owen Mescall, who led off the game with a walk.

Two pitches later, senior Brise Boop launched a two-run homerun to left field, his fifth long ball of the season.

The Eagles tallied a run in the bottom of the first inning, but the Lions produced another big two-out rally in the top of the third inning.

Freshman Joey Koenig doubled to center field and was driven in with a run-scoring double to left field off the bat of junior Aiden Rae to make it 4-1.

Sophomore Logan Osmundson followed with an RBI double to center field to increase JSerra's lead to 5-1.

Following a walk to junior Zac Veronda, Mescall smacked a two-run triple to center field to give the Lions a 7-1 lead.

Junior Shane D’Arcy capped the six-run rally with a two-run single, giving JSerra a 9-1 advantage.

Rae clobbered his first homerun of the season in the top of the fourth inning, a two-run shot to left field, that increased the Lions' lead to 11-1.

Osmundson added a solo homerun to left field in the top of the sixth inning, his third consecutive game with a homerun.

Senior Blake Bowen clubbed a solo shot to left field in the top of the seventh inning, his team-leading eighth of the season.

JSerra and Santa Margarita will close out their series on Friday, when the Lions host the Eagles at JSerra Catholic High School.

First pitch is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
