According to espn’s Shams Charania, Wall, who played with the Washington Wizards from 2010 to 2020, got the idea for the role back in January when he served as the team’s honorary captain of the day.

Wall has already been hands-on with the basketball program, playing an active role in team meetings and in evaluations of recruits and transfer targets.

Per ESNP, he’s also “helped shape the program’s overall strategic vision with focus on roster management, name, image and likeness deals, revenue sharing, agent negotiations and player mentorship.”
