#TSRUpdatez: Roommates, the third man accused in the 2002 murder of Run DMC’s late #JamMasterJay has officially pleaded guilty. According to nbcnews, Jay Bryant, 52, admitted in federal court on Monday that he played a role in the deadly ambush of the Run-DMC legend, whose real name was Jason Mizell. Bryant had previously pleaded not guilty after being charged nearly three years ago, but has now taken responsibility for his involvement.

Bryant told the judge he knowingly helped the gunmen enter Mizell’s New York recording studio, admitting, “I knew a gun was going to be used to shoot Jason Mizell… I knew that what I was doing was wrong and a crime.”
Prosecutors say Bryant helped carry out the plan by opening a back door for the shooters just before the attack. His DNA was also reportedly found on a hat left at the scene.

His guilty plea follows the convictions of Mizell’s godson, Karl Jordan Jr., and friend, Ronald Washington, who were accused of carrying out the killing. Authorities allege Jordan was the gunman, while Washington blocked the exit during the shooting.
