The Brisbane Lightning are excited about the addition to the lineup of experienced defender Zach Shankar.  The 29 year old from Canada brings a wealth of hockey experience to the youthful Lightning defensive group with a hockey resume that spans the OHL, USports, the ECHL and most recently the NIHL in the UK. 

“Zach is the individual we need to solidify and anchor our young defence,” states Brisbane Head Coach Nathan Deyell. “Leadership roles in the OHL, and experience in high level professional leagues will definitely strengthen the team at both ends of the ice.”

Lightning fans can look forward to seeing Zach in action when the puck drops in our series this weekend against the Perth Thunder!
