On March 23, 1950, Roy Richards, Sr. started a wire and cable company in Carrollton, Ga. 

Beginning with only 12 team members and three used machines, Mr. Richards had a simple vision – to bring electric light to his grandmother’s home. 75 years later, that same company – Southwire – is now North America’s leader in wire and cable with more than 9,000 team members around the world and an incredible story to share. 

For 75 years, Southwire has been part of our lives, our homes, our communities, our world… and today, on our milestone anniversary, we celebrate with and say thank you to all who have been part of our story and our continued success. We’re excited about what the next 75 years will bring!
