🌎🚀 From opportunity to orbit: Central America takes a leap through KiboCUBE!
 
Access to space is becoming a reality for more countries. 
 
Through the #KiboCUBE programme, the Central American Integration System (sg_sica) was awarded an opportunity to deploy a CubeSat. Led by the National Autonomous University of Honduras🇭🇳 (unahoficial), this project is developing an early warning system for natural disasters and communications for emergency response. The mission is now entering its final design phase.
 
Last month, experts from the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (jaxajp) joined UNAH on-site, working hand-in-hand with local engineers and students to:
🔍 review the satellite’s hardware, facility, and project progress
🔧 conduct technical coordination toward safety reviews
 
The goal: to set "MRZN"(Morazán Sat) up for success ahead of its planned completion and launch to the International Space Station! 🚀🛰️
 
This visit is a critical step towards strengthening local engineering capacity and building long-term international partnerships in space.

This project goes beyond one satellite. It is about fostering local talent and international collaboration, engaging students in real-world space technology, and supporting the development of national space infrastructure like a cleanroom or a ground station in Honduras.
