Have you all been following this story? Uncle Nearest premium whiskey is facing a 2025 lawsuit by Farm Credit Mid-America alleging loan default which subsequently placed the company under court-ordered receivership. Fawn Weaver, co-founder of the business, attempted to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy to resolve debt obligations (which is common in business), but was denied by the courts. A gag order followed. A second gag order has now been ordered against Fawn Weaver to ensure the case was not ‘tried in the media’. Weaver has described the actions against her company as “attempted robbery”. 💔 .
