100 years ago today, Louis Bamberger gave Newark a gift that has never stopped giving - The Beaux-Arts building housing The Newark Museum of Art. 🏛️🎉

On April 30, 1926, architect Jarvis Hunt’s building opened its doors - 65,000 square feet built for curious minds, lifelong learners, and everyone who called this city home. Carved into the cornice: Science. Art. Industry. Three words that have held for a century.⏳

Inside galleries spanning ancient to contemporary. New Jersey’s first planetarium. And a belief that a museum belongs to its community.🫂

Here’s to 100 years. And everything still to come!!💐🎊
