#USOC2026: newyorkcityfc came out on top in the latest edition of the Hudson River Derby with a 3-1 win over redbullnewyork. NYCFC scored all three of their goals on headers from close range – Kai Trewin (9’), Raul Gustavo (39’), and Thiago Martins (57’). 

Julian Hall scored the Red Bulls’ lone goal in the 14th minute, assisted by Cade Cowell.

NYCFC advances to the quarterfinals, which will take place on May 19 or 20. The draw for the quarterfinal matchups takes place tomorrow (Thursday) morning. While the Red Bulls’ Open Cup journey ends here, they will face their New York City rivals again next month in an MLS match on May 16.
