In arguably the game of the season, Panathinaikos downed Valencia in an overtime thriller, 105-107, to take a 2-0 series lead back to Athens. Offenses flowed freely in the first quarter, which finished 23-24. The second period was a blur of scoring as both teams shot the lights out, and Panathinaikos took a 48-49 edge into the break. The momentum continued to swing back and forth in the third period, which ended with a buzzer-beating three from Juancho Hernangomez to make it 71-74 with 10 minutes remaining.

Panathinaikos appeared to take control as Cedi Osman started the final frame by draining a pair of triples to cap a 0-15 run for a 71-80 lead, but Valencia roared back with enormous determination and overtime beckoned after Kendrick Nunn missed on the final buzzer. A thrilling extra period saw the scoring evenly shared until the final possession, when Nigel Hayes-Davis converted a perfect mid-range jumper to seal the win and break Valencia’s hearts.

Hayes-Davis was the main difference-maker all night as he finished with 27 points on 5-of-9 three-point shooting. Solid support came from Nunn with 19 points, while Osman was all-action on his way to 16 points and 8 rebounds, and TJ Shorts paired 10 points with 6 assists. Valencia was led by its star young guards as Jean Montero poured in 21 points and Sergio De Larrea added 18, with Brancou Badio netting 15 and Kam Taylor combining 12 points with 7 boards.
