Before anything else: check the trigger warnings. This book pushes limits—emotionally, sexually, and morally—and it won’t be for everyone. 

Troublemaker is exactly the kind of reckless, boundary-pressing chaos Brenner excels at, and Blake and Lucy’s story is a full-throttle plunge into obsession, heat, and emotional volatility. Their connection crackles from the moment they’re reunited—charged, messy, and impossible to ignore. The taboo guardian setup adds a constant undercurrent of tension, and their dynamic walks a razor-thin line between devotion and disaster.

Blake’s unraveling is one of the strongest parts of the book. Every chapter shows just how tightly wound he is and how quickly that control snaps once Lucy steps back into his life. Lucy herself is a force—bold, chaotic, emotional, and absolutely relentless. Her mix of vulnerability and defiance gives the story its pulse.

And the spice? This book doesn’t just flirt with kink—it dives into it. Power play, possessiveness, the push-pull of dominance and surrender… it’s all woven directly into their relationship. A few scenes hit like a punch, and others like flames.
