Anything written by Piper Rayne is an instant must read for me,and this 1st book in the Plain Daisy Ranch series did not disappoint. It’s a sweet, fun, emotional pulled at your heartstrings, second chance romance that’s easy to get lost in and read the entire thing in one sitting. I do highly recommend reading the prequel “One Last Summer” before reading this book as it gives a bit more context to Gillian and Ben’s relationship the first time around (high school sweethearts/young love) and you can just feel the chemistry they had then to understanding where the character are now almost 15 years later. 

Ben and Gillian haven’t spoken in nearly 15 years and things have changed in a big way, now that Ben has returned back to town after retiring his successful NFL career and Gillian is a single mom to a teenage son Clayton and just finished law school. Now they are back in the same town, Ben decides to set things right with the one he left behind while Gillian tries her best to avoid Ben since she doesn’t want to get hurt again. But with a love that never died like theirs and a whole town rallying for them to get back together, it’s so easy to see that they belong together. Gillian does makes Ben work for a second chance, and Clayton doesn’t make it easy for Ben either. But it's worth it. I loved this book, and I can't wait to read what comes next!
