As Anthony navigated living in foster care, CASA Daniel was precisely the person he needed. This one caring individual became his beacon of hope, fiercely advocating for Anthony's needs and aspirations and listening to him when he felt lost. Their relationship built on trust empowered Anthony to express his feelings to CASA Daniel and advocate for his best interests. Despite the complexities involved, the dedicated efforts of CASA Daniel resulted in Anthony being reunited with his great-grandmother and great-aunt.

While Anthony's case closed, CASA Daniel remained steadfast in supporting Anthony. When Anthony reached high school, his school counselors discouraged him from applying to college. Yet CASA Daniel continued cultivating Anthony’s confidence that he could achieve anything. In 2019, Anthony achieved a significant milestone by being accepted into UCLA. 

Today, as a 23-year-old graduate, Anthony dedicates his life to uplifting others. He now works to empower high school students from disadvantaged backgrounds to reach their academic potential. Just as CASA Daniel once did for him, Anthony now serves as a positive role model for vulnerable youth navigating their own challenges. 

Anthony is just one of thousands of children living in foster care in San Diego and Riverside Counties who need their very own CASA ­­— someone who will listen to their hopes and dreams and help them believe they can achieve them.
