His hat trick against the Terrapins helped send the Nittany Lions through to the title match against Johns Hopkins, a team that had defeated the Nittany Lions in the regular season. Aquino, who missed the first meeting, put up four points on two goals and a pair of assists as Penn State blitzed the Blue Jays 16-8 to secure the conference automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament. For his efforts, he was named the Big Ten Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player in addition to earning all-tournament team honors.
