Back then I thought results meant everything. I rushed things that didn’t need to be rushed and ignored the small habits that actually mattered.

It took a few years and a few setbacks to realize none of that really sticks. What you do early only matters if it builds into something later.

No one is remembering your results at 14. They remember what you become at 18, 20, 25.

The reps add up. The habits show. The details you skip always come back around.

If you’re a younger fencer reading this, focus on getting better instead of trying to prove something.

And if you’re older, you already know how fast it goes.
