The El Dorado County and Logtown Fire Safe Councils, alongside the Office of Wildfire Preparedness and Resilience - El Dorado County, led a hands-on effort, in partnership with CAL FIRE volunteers, the California Conservation Corp and the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians Tribal Fire Department to help a resident create defensible space by clearing brush and removing dead vegetation.

Defensible space is one of the most effective tools to protect your property from wildfire. It provides firefighters the room they need to safely do their job—and gives your home a real fighting chance.
