Frames from the Seahawks Week 11 win over the 49ers in Santa Clara.

From the mind of a photographer (for those interested in the thoughts moving around in my crazy brain):

Made good postgame emotion and some decent pregame frames. Just couldn’t really create anything of note during the actual game but sometimes that’s how it goes.

My oft-repeated goal is to “make one great photo” each day. Didn’t feel like I accomplished that on Sunday but the good thing about always trying to make one great one is you’ll usually end up with a handful of pretty good ones. Just couldn’t find a banger of an action shot.

At one point, I was frustrated and decided to move to the line of scrimmage with a 400mm lens to try and “force” a slam-bang tight close action shot…and that’s exactly when Seahawks cornerback Devon Witherspoon tipped a pass that was intercepted by teammate Johnathan Hankins. Trying to shoot that play from the closeness of the line of scrimmage is so tough it reminds me of a line from the old original “Top Gun” movie where Maverick asks Goose about the opposing aircraft - “where’d he go?”, to which Goose replies, “where’d WHO go?!”. That’s what it felt like - I knew something happened but didn’t know what or where - and somehow found Hankin coming down with the ball (I was partially blocked from it OF COURSE) and finally managed to get a got a photo of him falling with the ball. I did sprint 40 yards to the end zone to make a celebration photo when they ran to pose (frame 2)

Oh, and the play of the game? Geno Smith’s TD run with 12 seconds left? Ran the opposite way from me. I’ve included the frame for your enjoyment (last frame). Legendary 49ers photographer (and great friend) michaelzagaris was of course making the frame of the game as he always does.

Ah, the stress-free life of the sports photographer 😂

If you’ve made it this far down the caption, I’m grateful. You should get a prize.
