Momma Bear and Baby Bear on a lunch date

The bear population in the populated areas of Lake Tahoe has soared in recent years, so sightings are far more common than they were 30 years ago. As soon as I saw these two, we moved away (across the street) snapped a quick photo and went on our way. These bears are pretty accustomed to humans (and probably saw/heard me before I saw them), but they are still wild and it is super important to keep your distance to make sure they don’t perceive you as a threat.
