Before modern shooters chased blockbuster scale, Medal of Honor: Frontline made World War II feel cinematic on a home console.

Released in 2002, it put players in the boots of Lt. Jimmy Patterson of the OSS and sent them across occupied Europe, from front-line operations to the push into Nazi Germany. The atmosphere, music, pacing, and mission design gave it that rare feeling of playing through a war film before that approach became standard in modern shooters.

This clip brings back exactly why Frontline still hits differently. The beach landings, the orchestral tension, the mission-by-mission momentum; it was more than nostalgia. It was one of those early-2000s console moments that showed how dramatic and memorable an FPS could be.
