mac demarco has become well known for his laid back style of indie music, offering an ambiance unlike anyone else

but while most of his work seems to surround the idea of romantic love, it's clear that the song 'heart to heart' was actually about love he had for a friend who had passed away — the late, great mac miller

the two began to get closer after years of crossing paths, with miller even going on demarco's secret youtube 'camtony' to livestream them in the studio

my heart hurts knowing we could have gotten music from the duo, and hearing demarco share the reason why he made this song cuts even deeper with all of that information
